El Leoncito in Titusville

El Leoncito Mexican and Cuban Restaurant

If you’re in Brevard County and you’re in the mood for Mexican, you can’t do any better than El Leoncito Mexican and Cuban Restaurant.

I stopped in one Fall afternoon last year; it was my second visit. And I thoroughly enjoyed my late lunch.

I arrived in the awesome mid-afternoon time when you’re likely to have little-to-no competition for the server’s attention. The server and the chef, more to the point. I was expecting good things from that visit, and I was not disappointed.

I ordered the Arroz con Pollo, thinking that a Chicken and Rice dish is bound to be a pretty darn good lunch in any kind of eatery, anywhere.

And, yes, their take on this favorite made an excellent and very filling lunch. It came with the customary chips and freshly-made salsa, as one would expect.

My service was very good. Brittany was attentive but didn’t overplay the role, so to speak, as can happen when a server has only one or two tables in those in between times of a shift.

The moderate prices and the colorful, one-off vibe there added to my very favorable impression.

I recommend El Leoncito without hesitation. If you’re anywhere around in the Titusville/Spacecoast area, stop and pay them a visit!

El Leoncito can be found at 4280 S. Washington in Titusville, Florida.

Fave Fotos: Places That Aren’t There Anymore

Fave Fotos: Places That Aren’t There Anymore

Sending this one back around for two reasons: one is that I was just thinking of this fave eatery. The second is that it’s a really good photo. Enjoy!

About Photography, Outdoor Fun, Food, Music, and Other Stuff.

In a posting back on June 19th, I featured the well-known local spot Yellow Dog Eats in one of my reviews. I like the place. A lot. Unique Eatery in Gotha is how the header begins, if you’d like to check it out. And yes, YDE truly does feature Fine Food and a Funky Feel. God, I can sure come up with cool titles, n’est-ce pas?

I just realized that one of the photos I took before the recent renovation of the outside turned out well. It also occurred to me that this scene is gone forever now that the renovations are complete.

So here it is. There are so many things all around Central Florida that have gone away, or in this case, have changed so thoroughly that a photo from not-so-long ago can never be repeated. Of course, that could be said about any photo; every moment…

Guess where I’m going right now

Guess where I’m going right now

Yeah, going to Disney World! Going to my Happy Place!

The banner photo is one of mine that I like especially. Many of you will recognize that it’s of the Haunted Mansion.

I mostly used it just because I like the way it turned out.

But I’m actually headed to Disney Hollywood Studios! Don’t have time to park hop today!

Hope you’ve got something cool lined up for today! Something that brings you joy! I’m tickled pink that I do and I promise I’ll come back with some good photos!

The 3rd is not too late to…

The 3rd is not too late to…

Today is the 3rd of January and that is not too late to send along New Year’s wishes to my friends here on da bulldog blog!

There’s no doubt that 2019 is going to be a very significant year. Although I don’t have a crystal ball, I think this nascent year is going to be a mixed bag, so to speak, but a year of great consequence.

I’m expecting some good things. Some really, really good things, in fact. I’m certain that the United States will have a new President in 2019. And well before year’s end.

And I’m quite sure we’re going to see some seriously bad events in the next 12 months. Many economists and pundits who cover that facet of human activity are saying that all the signs of a serious impending recession are right there for us to see.

I hasten to add that I’m hoping the economists and prognosticators are wrong about that. But the signs are not good.

Now let me get back to my original purpose for this post: I wish all my friends and folks who follow this humble blog a most happy, safe and prosperous New Year!

We will see a lot of change. I’m persuaded that a lot of those changes will be wonderfully, amazingly good.

I’m concerned that many will fall all the way on the other end of the spectrum.

But regardless of exactly how the year unfolds, I wish with all my heart that you’ll be smiling 50 weeks from now as 2019 draws to a close.
